Fantasy Football: Week 15 Waiver Wire

Welcome to the New Life Fantasy waiver wire article. If you need an injury replacement, or a decent streamer, then look no further. We got the best key waiver pick ups for the fantasy managers trying to make it to the next week in the fantasy playoffs.

QB

Philip Rivers (Ind)

Rostered: 41% (yahoo), 17% (espn)

Rivers isn't going to give you a high ceiling but he doesn't have a low floor either. When it comes to safe options Rivers is the way to go as he continues to be as consistent as they come. Houston has given up the 10th most fantasy points to opposing QBs this season which paints only a big positive for Captain Consistent. Seeing as you already know what you'll get from this guy, which is rare in the FFB world, pick him if you're a streamer for this week.

Drew Lock (Den)

Rostered: 11% (yahoo), 8% (espn)

Locks 4 TD game was more than just impressive. Though the numbers he just posted are unsustainable, he’s still going to produce starter worthy numbers as his last 3 games will be some of the easiest opponents he's faced. The Bills are going to be a strong opponent on the offensive side making the Saturday afternoon matchup an exciting QB battle to watch. The Broncos will enter the game underdogs however, being the QB battle it'll be, Lock has weapon after weapon to pass, helping him overcome Allen. Like I said last week, Lock is a great safe streamer for week 15 and on.

Jalen Hurts (Phi)

Rostered: 17% (yahoo), 9% (espn)

I was a hair’s width from mentioning Hurts in my last article but couldn't find the confidence to do so along with adding him in my leagues. Now that he’s actually taken some NFL snaps this kid is ready to be added in all formats and under any situation. Even if you have Wilson, Mahomes, ect. Hurts needs to be added; especially in dynasty leagues. If you're not a QB streamer, you should pick him up anyway so he doesn't beat you in the playoffs. Hurts managed to tally 20 FFB points (standard) against a very stout Saints defense and the last three games will be much easier. It was fun watching the Eagles’ offense finally come alive under their new dual threat QB, which we all know dual threats are fantasy cheat codes. The rookie is my absolute favorite pick of the week as well as for the remainder of the season. If you are streaming, pick this guy up if you can and start with the utmost confidence as he should be a top 10 QB here on out.

RB

Jeff Wilson Jr. (SF)

Rosterd: 19% (yahoo), 8% (espn)

In the last 4 games he's played, Wilson has averaged almost 12 carries a game yielding 57.5 yards and a whole TD on average. There aren't very many RBs rostered under 50% that are getting that many carries let alone producing such valuable numbers. In fact, there's not very many running backs that can average 4.9 yards per carry and 1 TD a game. That sort of production demands a roster spot if you can fit him.

Ito Smith (Atl)

Rostered: 4% (yahoo), 1% (espn)

Another RB that isn't hardly rostered that's seeing enough carries to be fantasy relevant is Smith. Sure RBs like Lindsay are also seeing just as many carries but you have to also look at the production. Smith is only a couple weeks off of a 13 point week (standard) and continues to see similar usage.

Carlos Hyde (Sea)

Rostered: 27% (yahoo), 20% (espn)

Averaging 13 touches a game in his last 5 outings should be enough evidence to pick Hyde up. He'll continue to play in the shadow of Carson but his opportunities don't seem to be going anywhere. He's definitely not starter worthy but he's at least worth a stash if something happens to the injury prone Carson.

WR

Russell Gage (Atl)

Rostered: 11% (yahoo) 12% (espn)

Gage managed to produce with 80 receiving yards on 5 catches despite Julio Jones returning to the line up. With that being said, I'd predict Gage to maintain decent fantasy value heading into a friendly matchup against the Tampa Defense that ranks as the 9th easiest matchup for receivers. Gage is worth a Flex spot with a possibility of booming into the WR2 conversation.

Allen Lazard (GB)

Rostered: 38% (yahoo) 29% (espn)

Carolina just surrendered 4 TDs to Lock so imagine the production we could see from Rodgers and his wideouts. And if we learned anything from the Packers last game, TD receptions can be spread as Rodges threw a TD to 4 different receivers. Obviously Adams is going to get the lion's share of targets but we'll see Lazard come up as the next highest scoring WR in the Packers offense. Ultimately he's at best a flex play, but a safe flex play and worth the pickup in week 15.

Tim Patrick (Den)

Rostered: 28% (yahoo), 20% (espn)

Patrick has scored either a TD or at least 60 yards in 8 out of his last 9 outings, if you don't count week 12 where Denver didn't have a QB. There is little to no reason this guy is rostered in so few leagues. He is one of the many weapons i mentioned that Lock has to pass to however, leads the Broncos receivers in snaps. If you have the ability to pick him up, do so, because he shouldn't be on the waivers for long.

TE

Jordan Reed (SF)

Rostered: 24% (yahoo), 14% (espn)

Reed is probably one of the most athletic TEs you'll find on the waivers. The 49ers will face a weak Cowboys defense which should give Reed plenty of red-zone opportunities. With Waiver TEs the number one thing you are looking for are odds to score a TD. With his current scenario Reed is by far the best option you can find if you're a desperate TE streamer.

Dalton Schultz (Dal)

Rostered: 49% (yahoo), 12% (espn)

Averaging 5.2 fantasy points a game of the season Schultz remains one of the more safe options you can pick from at TE. He hardly makes for a flex option but is definitely worth a streaming option.

Other Notable Pickups

  • Baker Mayfield (QB - Cle)

  • Tony Pollard (RB - Dal)

  • Lynn Bowden Jr. (RB/WR - Mia)

  • Marquez Valdes-Scantling (WR - GB)

  • Cole Kmet (TE - chi)
