Ranking The Top 50 Fantasy Football Players For 2020

Updated: Jan 23

The 2019 Fantasy Football season is officially over, which means it's time to prep for the 2020 season! Us diehard fans know that there is NEVER an offseason for talking fantasy football. Even though we are over 8 months away from next season, I want to commend you for clicking on this article. It shows that you want to soak up all of the knowledge you can before next season, and it never hurts to stay ahead of the game! Without further a due, let's dive into our Top-50 Fantasy Football Player Ranking heading into next season.

Please Note: The following rankings are based on .5 PPR scoring setting.

Top 1-10

1. Christian McCaffrey

2. Saquon Barkley

3. Ezekiel Elliott

4. Dalvin Cook

5. Michael Thomas

6. Alvin Kamara

7. Derrick Henry

8. Nick Chubb

9. Davante Adams

10. Aaron Jones

Christian McCaffrey being TOP overall shouldn't surprise anyone. He had 113.1 MORE points than the 2nd leading skill-position player (Michael Thomas). Despite early season injuries, Saquon Barkley is still a bankable Top 3 pick. Seeing Dalvin Cook this high might be a surprise to some, but the Vikings ran their entire offense through Cook last year. I've said it time and time again: CONSISTENCY IS KEY. If you want a player you can rely on week in and week out to get you production then Michael Thomas is your guy. I'm not ready to give up on Alvin Kamara being a high-end RB1 despite a letdown season. Some of you may groan at Derrick Henry being this high on the list, but you can't ignore the 1500+ yards rushing and 200+ yards receiving he had to go along with 18 total TDs. I expect Davante Adams to bounce back and provide consistent production. Cheers to all of you who rode Aaron Jones all the way to the championship! Last year, you were able to snag him in the 3rd round, but this year you will have to pay a premium draft pick for his services. I believe the timeshare with Jamaal Williams helped him stay healthy all year.

11-20

11. DeAndre Hopkins

12. Lamar Jackson

13. Tyreek Hill

14. JuJu Smith-Schuster

15. James Conner

16. Kenny Golladay

17. Julio Jones

18. Odell Beckham Jr.

19. Chris Carson

20. Joe Mixon

DeAndre Hopkins is too talented not to draft in the late 1st/early 2nd round. Despite the Golden Rule that you should wait on a QB, Lamar Jackson's 2019 production should buck that trend. His rushing floor is incredible, and he has solid weapons around him. He scored 77.9 MORE points than the 2nd leading QB (Dak Prescott). Tyreek Hill's speed and Mahomes's arm strength is a match-made-in-heaven. JuJu Smith-Schuster and James Conner should go back to being a back-end WR1 and RB1 respectively once Big Ben is back in the fold. Kenny Golladay produced ALL season despite the QB woes in Detroit. He's a beast and should get a healthy Matthew Stafford back next season. Odell Beckham Jr. is too talented not to take at end of the 2nd round. Chris Carson leads the way on a run-first team in Seattle. Joe Mixon is easily a Top 5 talent in the league stuck behind a terrible offensive line.

21-30

21. Leonard Fournette

22. Travis Kelce

23. Josh Jacobs

24. Chris Godwin

25. David Johnson/Kenyan Drake

26. Mark Ingram

27. George Kittle

28. Todd Gurley

29. Marlon Mack

30. Le'Veon Bell

I'm choosing to believe that Leonard Fournette's bounce-back year in 2019 wasn't a fluke. Josh Jacobs quickly became the focal point of the Raiders offense, and I expect that trend to continue next season. I love his floor. Chris Godwin was ELECTRIFYING. Before going down with a hamstring injury in Week 15, he was far and away fantasy's #1 WR. Either David Johnson was playing hurt all year or his skillset quickly diminished. I choose the former. If he and Kenyan Drake stay in Arizona next season, I believe that whoever wins the RB battle over the offseason deserves this spot in our rankings due to the fact that they play for a fast-paced offense. Mark Ingram is in the PERFECT situation. He's on a run-first team whose QB is a runner, himself. Todd Gurley proved all of his doubters wrong by finishing the year as the #14 fantasy skill-position player. Marlon Mack quickly became the focal point of this Colts offense once Andrew Luck retired and he delivered. There's been talk of the NY Jets shopping Le'Veon Bell. Whether he stays or goes, Bell has enough talent to produce for whichever team he plays for next season.

31-40

31. Melvin Gordon

32. Austin Ekeler

33. Mike Evans

34. Amari Cooper

35. Patrick Mahomes

36. Adam Thielen

37. Cooper Kupp

38. Devonta Freeman

39. David Montgomery

40. Miles Sanders

It may seem weird that we have Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler back-to-back despite playing for the same team BUT I believe this offense can support both RBs. As long as Jameis Winston is the QB for the Buccaneers, both Godwin and Mike Evans will be a WR1. Garbage time played a huge role with Dak Prescott being the #2 QB in fantasy last year and Amari Cooper was a huge beneficiary of that. Patrick Mahomes may not be as valuable as Lamar Jackson, but he consistently provides high-end QB1 numbers and he's durable. Cooper Kupp is UNREAL. He shook off an ACL tear he suffered the season prior to post the 4th MOST fantasy points for a WR. Devonta Freeman is a ticking time bomb, but as long as he is starting for the Falcons, he will remain a steady RB2. I fully expect David Montgomery to walk into next offseason as the starting RB for the Bears. Both his talent and opportunity give him a RB1 ceiling. My fingers are crossed that Doug Pederson saw enough from Miles Sanders over the last few weeks of the 2019 season to crown him the starting RB for the Eagles.

41-50

41. Phillip Lindsay

42. A.J. Brown

43. Keenan Allen

44. Courtland Sutton

45. Stefon Diggs

46. Allen Robinson

47. Julian Edelman

48. Mark Andrews

49. Tyler Lockett

50. Robert Woods

The Broncos finally weened off Royce Freeman towards the end of the year and ran the offense through Phillip Lindsay. I believe Lindsay will help QB Drew Lock a lot next year and produce consistent RB1 numbers. Woah, A.J. Brown in the Top 50? Is that a typo? Absolutely not. Over the last 4 weeks of the season, Brown AVERAGED 19.7 fantasy points per game. Despite the carousel of QBs in Denver, Courtland Sutton was STILL able to post Top 20 WR numbers. He heads into the offseason as Drew Lock as his QB, which means they'll have plenty of time to build chemistry. Allen Robinson was a STEAL for his fantasy owners this year as he consistently produced strong numbers despite the struggles of Mitch Trubisky. As long as Tom Brady is Julian Edelman's QB, I'd love to have that consistency on my team. Mark Andrews was EVERYONE'S favorite TE sleeper heading into the 2019 season, and he MORE THAN delivered. Russell Wilson is one of the most durable QBs in the league, which gives Tyler Lockett a safe floor as your WR2. Robert Woods started the year off slow, but picked it up towards the end of the year.

As we get closer to the NFL season, we will be writing more content to help you prepare for your 2020 Fantasy Football draft. This list will inevitably change as we get closer to the season due to free-agent signings, injuries, opportunity, or unforeseen personnel changes. The NFL is random to say the least, but that's why we love it!
